Forgot I had this thing. I suppose I would do well to restart with it.

Not sleeping much, the dog and cat are getting fat, I am getting healthier, the boys are truly driving me crazy and I am quilting and listening to wonderful books in audio format. My computer tanked so I am using a laptop one of my sons has lent me for use. I don't much care for the keyboard but am gradually getting used to it.

Okay I had a terrible day yesterday. First I got bad news at the bank, then came home and was feeling way down in the dumps and twisted my leg funny getting out of the jeep and poof ouchie world. So I took a nap, and finally got up to do the dishes for mom and blew up her dishwasher. She is being nice and saying it was just old but I was having a bad day so I BLEW THE SUCKER UP!
I sure hope today goes better. I'm going to be out for most of the weekend so please pray I get a break and have a truly good time...

more about the weirdness that is my life....

well to continue the last post.
I have now acquired a black jeep grand cherokee laredo vehicle and it gets decent gas mileage. I love that I am now mobile and can do my house hunting and such with the Jeep. I have gone to see a good friend from high school several times and find that I am enjoying the freedom of not having too much to do or anyone to cater to besides me.
Mom and Dad have been pretty great to be around and I am of the opinion that they are great folks and that is not a biased opinion.
Dad is sort of scared of Dora and the little stinker is picking up on that. I am a bit frustrated that I can't sew too much yet with the arm and so on but that will end eventually.
I want to take a road trip here fairly soon to go cut asparagus on the ditch banks of my home town but am not sure it is still even there as I haven't really been there for about 30 years. Call me a nervous nellie but if I don't get the asparagus I will feel like a total failure and that's the truth!
that is pretty much all I have to say about it right now. My daughter, bless her heart, wants me to post the story of how I met her father ( my first hubby) but I think I will not do that right now. Maybe later when it doesn't make me feel like such a failure for marrying twice and not getting it right either time....

update on chaos

Okay folks, here it is in a nutshell

I left olfella, due to his pernicious cheating, gambling, drinking, battering and other bad habits.

I left him on Valentines day and drove 1200 miles with a u-haul (the biggest they had) filled to the roof, two fairly large dogs and a whining kitty cat in a cat carrier. I took I-40 most of the way and truly enjoyed the drive. Pulled into my folks area on the Tuesday early in the morning after my epic journey at 2 AM. Did have some mechanical problems but the roadside assistance rider on my U-haul rental took care of that.
The scenery was awesome, and I was so happy when I crossed the Arizona border into NM that I cried. Stopped at Gallup for some real honest to goodness chili verde too. I had missed chili so much all the years I lived in Fresno.

Exactly one week after I arrived in NM I went for a walk with mother and was wearing flip flops. I tripped on a little rock edge, lost my balance and busted my left forearm very seriously but it was still better and safer in NM than in CA with olfella. I have never been so happy to get a shot in the ass, as I was to get that shot of Demerol at the hospital just before they took me to surgery to repair my arm bones. BTW I busted em both.

Two plates, sixteen screws, one pin and a bottle of percoset later they sent me home to recover with a splint on my arm. Big bulky splint and heavier than the dickens...

Two weeks later they removed the splint and did NOT cast the arm, took out the staples holding the incisions together and told me no weight, and move things around. I did what they told me but have to say that it was still feeling sort of floppy...

Tomorrow I will be eight weeks into the healing of my arm and nine weeks from the leaving of my husband of fifteen years. The arm hurts worse than the divorce does, which is just sad and sort of makes me think I might be a cold hearted woman....

Life really gets in the way sometimes. I have no idea why I haven't posted in forever, but I haven't.
Things around here have been rough and tuff and not too good. I am working on getting the house tidied up because of the hoarding issues that the old guy that lives here seems to have. So far he has not noticed one single thing I have thrown out is gone. I am also working on selling those things that are superfluous and we really do not need. Drives me nuts that I am the one that has to do this stuff, but there is it.
I spent the last two days hiding out in my sewing room listening to an audio book by an author I have not enjoyed before. The book is called Undone and is by Karen Slaughter. I loved it and it was well researched and written.
The dogs are doing well, we have a cat hanging around outside that is sort of pretty but the dogs hate it and it is mean to my Kiki La Roue so I think I am going to have to find it another home. Big fuzzy thing, black and white. yowls all the time. Well that pretty much covers everything for now....

been a while

I have not posted a new post in some time. I have been super busy with the garden and the boys this summer. So far this summer has been much cooler than normal, and I have to say I am enjoying that.
The pup has discovered bubbles are fun things to chase so we have a great time blowing bubbles and watching her go batty.
I am working on some quilt tops but really should be finishing up the sandwiching and tying of the ones I have already put together. Peter is waiting to see if his welds will be certifiable by the state then I hope and pray he will find a great job welding for his living.
Charley is off to Atwater this week to work and I hope he eats okay while he is there. He has been really working his hiney off this last few weeks and I think he appreciates it a lot.
My car has been overheating again and I have another leaky hose in the radiator system. Just what I need right now! Needless to say with that and the repairs to the rototiller I feel like I am heading out to get parts all the time.
Well, I have to get going on my day. The old feller that lives here maybe home all day today, (which I certainly hope does not happen as he drives me nuts) and I am hoping they call him into work soon..
well that pretty much covers all the basic news.

Finished!

I finally finished mom's quilt. That Double Wedding Ring pattern is a doozy to make up. The quilting is really involved as well. I did the binding and it was not so bad as I thought it was going to be. I have been working on this one since 2005 and finished it about 1Am Monday morning. Threw it in the washer and got all the markings off and dried it fluffy. I am thrilled to be done but now I am thinking about making one for me with black fabric instead of white for the background color.
First I have to get that orange thing done for dad though.
